Commonly Used Software
For now, the new generation of guitar software effects, such as BIAS and ReValver , has been able to produce the same amazing tone as those hi-end hardware effects like KPA, AXE etc. With** XSPEED ultra-low latency technology**, in fact, You already have a hi-end hardware effect. In addition, XTONE Pro can give you almost unlimited possibilities. With different software effects, you can create more ways to use it. You can use effects apps such as VocaLive to turn Pro into a vocal effects pedal. Also, you can play guitar and sing at the same time. Furthermore, You can use Pro with synth effects apps like MIDI Guitar to turn your guitar tone into the piano, bass, organ, etc.
![](https://www.showdoc.cc/server/api/common/visitfile/sign/26d84cc0499877ef87eaf25d4c7b7187?showdoc=.jpg)

 7. MIDI Control

XTONE Pro has 6 smart foot switches and 1 expression pedal interface for playing control. When you press them, Pro sends MIDI CC commands out via the USB and MIDI OUT interface. When a valid MIDI command is received on the MIDI IN interface, Pro will also forward it to the USB and MIDI OUT interface in real time. The expression pedal recommended ZOOM FP02M. Please refer to the support document of the expression pedal manufacturer you purchased to ensure that the polarity of your expression pedal is consistent with XTONE / XTONE Pro. Mismatched polarity may result in damage to the XTONE / XTONE Pro. More infomations about expression pedal please check FAQ. Nowadays, software effects have very powerful MIDI control systems. With Pro’s foot switches and expression pedal, you can do whatever control you want. For details, read the MIDI specification chapter below. #### MIDI Command Group XTONE Pro has three MIDI command groups, each group corresponds to 7 different value of MIDI CC commands. Long press A, B, C foot switch can be switched to the corresponding group, different groups show different LED colors:

A group - green

B group - blue

C group - red

Different MIDI command groups, 6 foot switches + 1 expression pedal can send 7 different MIDI commands, which means XTONE Pro can send 3 x 7 = 21 different MIDI commands, control 21 different parameters in the software. The following lists the MIDI CC values corresponding to the foot switch and expression pedal in the three MIDI command groups.

![](https://www.showdoc.cc/server/api/common/visitfile/sign/d11438851b42e95a3186c4c5ff55ad86?showdoc=.jpg)

#### MIDI Command Mode XTONE Pro has 3 MIDI command modes,

Press A+B switch to Mode 1

Press A+C switch to Mode 2

Press B+C switch to Mode 3

When the switch is successful,** Mode 1 blinking green, Mode 2 blinking blue, Mode 3 blinking red. ** Different APP may use different command modes, **If you find an abnormality when using foot switch, you should try switching to the other two control modes.**

Mode 1
For JamUp, BIAS FX, AmpKit+, etc. Most other software effects also work for this mode.
Mode 2
For Guitar Rig(Disable Hold Mode), Amplitube(Switch Presets), VocaLive(Switch Presets), etc.
Mode 3
For Guitar Rig(Enable Hold Mode), ToneStack, AmpliTube(Toggle Mode), VocaLive(Toggle Mode), etc.

![](https://www.showdoc.cc/server/api/common/visitfile/sign/4e0ccd356b6fb264ba1185f857f7e01e?showdoc=.jpg)

***MODE1(Latching): Send 127 only. Please refer to http://expressionpedals.com/list-of-expression-pedals to ensure that the polarity of your expression pedal is consistent with XTONE / XTONE Pro. Mismatched polarity may result in damage to the XTONE / XTONE Pro. We recommend ZOOM FP02M as the expression pedal of XTONE/XTONE Pro. Also, the expression pedal with polarity switch such as Nektar NX-P works, too. If you can't confirm the polarity of the expression pedal, you can try: 1. If when you pulg in the expresiion pedal, the XTONE will shut down, it means the polarity does not match or you are not use TRS cable. 2. Please MIDI map a wah or volume parameter in the effects app you use, and then step on the expression pedal from the beginning to the end at a constant speed, and determine whether the range of the parameter matches and whether the control is linear. If not, it means the polarity does not match.

**RTS expression pedal list:** | Brand | Model | | :------------ | :------------ | | Alesis | F2 | | AMT | EX-50 | | Beringher | FCV-1002 | | Beringher | FC-600 | | Bespeco | VM18LU | | Bespeco | VM13ZUM | | Digitech | DOD mini expression | | EHX | Performance | | EHX | Performance Dual Expression | | Fatar | VP-26 | | Korg | EXP-2 | | Korg | XVP-10 | | Korg | XVP-20 | | M-Audio | EX-P | | Mooer | Expline | | Mission engineering | EP-1R | | Mission engineering | SP-1R | | Mission engineering | EP-25 Pro aero | | Mission engineering |SP-25M Pro aero | | Mission engineering | SP-25L Pro aero | | Nektar | NX-P | | Oz Inventions | Xpression fX12 Motion | | Oz Inventions | Xpression fX21 TRS Enhancer | | Proline | PXP1 | | Rocktron | Hex | | Rocktron | Utopia | | Source Audio | Reflex | | Source Audio | Hot hand 313 | | Thru-Tone | EX-S | | Thru-Tone | EX-ULT | | Zoom | FP02M | | Zoom | FP02 | | Zoom | FP01 | If you want to use TRS expression pedal, you need to flip the TRS cable polarity.
