As this function boosts the volume, the difference may not be noticeable if the default value is low. Its on/off status may not be correctly shown in the KATANA Librarian due to its feature.

GAFC-1 and GAFC-2: These have the same function as the GA-FC Pedal’s FS 1/FS 2 footswitch. You can assign different parameters that it controls via the KATANA Librarian. For KATANA 100/Head/Artist MK II users, BTS Desktop also works.

New Functions for MK I

The functions only MK I support

Booster SOLO: This toggles the SOLO mode of the booster. But don't worry! With AIRSTEP Kat Edition, you can use BTS for KATANA-AIR to edit these KATANA Amps wirelessly! The 1-4 patch on the BTS App corresponds to the CH 1 BANK A to CH2 BANK B of KATANA 50. The 5-6 patch on the BTS App repeats the 3-4 Patch of KATANA 50.

KATANA 100/Head/Artist MKII&I users: The BTS App has 6 patches, while KATANA 100/Head/Artist has 8. You can only edit the first 6 patches via the BTS App. For the last 2 patches, use AIRSTEP Kat to change preset and the button on KATANA Amp to save.

MKII differences

For KATANA MKII users, there are a few key differences due to the new effects and control designs:

Patch import difference

You cannot import patches from BTS App.

Main Page’s Control Knob differences

The BST/MOD knob and DELAY/FX knob in the BTS for KATANA-AIR app only control the BOOSTER and FX Knob on MK II. But don't worry, you can still edit MOD and DELAY by going to the effects page.

Take the BST/MOD knob in BTS App as an example(The DELAY/FX knob is under the same rule) , here’s the corresponding relationship:

Minimum Value (BOOSTER OFF): When the knob in the BTS app is at its minimum value (indicating BOOSTER OFF), the BOOSTER knob on the KATANA MK II is also at its minimum value (BOOSTER OFF). (Pic 1)

In the Range of BST: When the knob in the BTS app is in the BST range, the BOOSTER knob on the KATANA MK II is in the first half of its range.(Pic 2)

MOD OFF: When the knob in the BTS app is at MOD OFF, the BOOSTER knob on the KATANA MK II is at the middle point.(Pic 3)

In the Range of MOD, Less Than 48: When the knob in the BTS app is in the MOD range and less than 48, the BOOSTER knob on the KATANA MK II is in the second half of its range.(Pic 4)

48-50 of the MOD: When the knob in the BTS app is between 48 and 50 in the MOD range, the BOOSTER knob on the KATANA MK II is at its maximum value.(Pic 5)

Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Pic 5

The new effects on KATANA MKII that BTS for KATANA-AIR doesn't support so far:

Type

Name

Description

BOOSTER

HM-2
METAL CORE

These effects’ names cannot be shown in BTS App, but the parameters can be edited.

MOD/FX

Heavy OCT
WAH 95E
DC-30

These effects’ names cannot be shown in BTS App, and the parameters cannot be edited.

DELAY

PAN
STEREO

These effects’ names cannot be shown in BTS App, but the parameters can be edited.

MKI differences

For KATANA MKI users, since the MK I’s Parameters are nearly the same as KATANA-AIR, you can use the BTS for KATANA-AIR directly. You can also use the AIRSTEP Kat Edition to unlock from 3 effects to 5 effects. Additionally, you can import the patches from the online librarian of the BTS App.

Connect BTS for KATANA MKII (Mac Only)

Please note that this connection method is specifically for KATANA MK II and Mac computers.

Follow these steps to set up your connection:

Power Up: Ensure that your AIRSTEP Kat Edition and KATANA Amp are both connected and powered on.

Download and Connect: Download the Bluetooth MIDI Connect app from the App Store.
